On-camera interviews can be tough—we make them look easy. At Pixl Production, we specialize in creating interview content that not only looks cinematic, but actually helps tell your story in a way that connects and converts. Whether you’re trying to showcase thought leadership, capture customer testimonials, or tell your brand’s origin story, we use a proven two-camera setup and a thoughtful interview development process to make sure your message lands.
Let’s break down what makes our approach different.
Two Cameras. One Compelling Story.
We shoot interviews using two 6K cameras. Why 6K? That’s ultra-high resolution, which means you get an incredibly crisp image with plenty of flexibility for cropping, reframing, or adjusting the shot in post-production without sacrificing quality. More importantly, the sensors in our cameras allow for a shallow depth of field—the “blurred background effect” you see in professional films and documentaries. It draws attention to the subject (you!) and elevates the production value instantly.
One camera stays locked on a wider shot while the second captures a closer angle. This allows us to cut seamlessly between perspectives during editing, keeping the final video visually dynamic and polished.
Eye Contact That Connects
We offer two interview styles:
1. Off-Camera Eye Line – The classic documentary/journalism look. The subject looks just off-camera, as if speaking to an interviewer. It feels natural, familiar, and is great for storytelling.
2. Direct-to-Camera with EyeDirect® – For interviews where the speaker needs to connect directly with the viewer (think: executive messages, nonprofit appeals, testimonials), we use an EyeDirect® system. It’s a special mirror setup on one of the cameras that lets the subject maintain direct eye contact with the camera lens—while still looking at a real human face. You’ve seen it on Netflix, Hulu, and ESPN documentaries. Now you can use it for your brand. Read more about EyeDirect here.
Not Just Filming—Storytelling
One of the most overlooked parts of an interview video is the structure. Before we hit record, we offer Interview Structure Scripts—mini creative briefs that align your messaging goals with a narrative arc. These are developed in advance and include strategic interview questions designed to draw out the soundbites and sentiments that serve your purpose best. The result? A video that doesn’t just look good—it works. It supports your campaign goals, speaks to your audience, and delivers a return on your investment.
Where We Capture
We’re flexible:
- On-location – In your warehouse, school, construction site, hospital—you name it. We’ll bring the gear and keep it real.
- In your office – We’ve been told we invade personal space… in the best possible way. We do sometimes need to move things around, but we always leave it how we found it!
- In our studio – See our full studio breakdown here. Controlled lighting, sound, and a backdrop tailored to your brand.
Whether you’re creating thought leadership content, recruiting videos, or heartfelt testimonials, interviews are still one of the most powerful tools in your marketing kit.
Let’s talk. We’ll bring the cameras—you bring the story.
