As we begin 2025, we’d like to look back on a year packed with thousands of miles traveled, dozens of projects accomplished, and valuable relationships. True to Pixl form, we’ve zigzagged across the country to help our clients bring their visions to life. From convention centers to corporate campuses, our “office” has been wherever the action calls. Here’s a look back at what made last year remarkable.

Embracing the Unexpected

2024 brought new challenges and opportunities as the events landscape continued to evolve. With some events remaining virtual post-COVID, we’ve seen a surge in attendees joining from the comfort of their homes—proof that remote experiences are here to stay. For other clients, it’s back to traditional events, but with a renewed focus on delivering engaging experiences that keep in-person attendance growing. This shift has allowed us not only to manage complex productions but also to collaborate closely with our clients’ teams to execute on their brand and create something truly remarkable, no matter the format.

Finding a New Home Base

This year marked a major milestone for Pixl: A new home of our own! After years of working in co-working spaces, we found ourselves settling into a dedicated office space that feels like a “grown-up” move for us. Who would’ve thought that a company started in my living room would now have a brick-and-mortar location with a studio, and floor-to-ceiling windows in every office? As we approach our 18th year of business, this new space feels like both a testament to our journey and a launchpad for the next chapter.

Highlight Reel: Our Favorite Moments on the Road

From Seattle to Orlando and everything in between, we’ve not only executed some of our best work but also deepened partnerships and friendships along the way. Some highlights of our year include:

  • Blend Forum: Our most logistically challenging event of the year found our team deep in the mountain landscape of West Virginia at the National Historic Landmark of The Greenbrier. Getting there was no easy feat—it was like our own Pixl version of “Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.” And ever hear of Dorothy Draper? We hadn’t either, but stepping into the property built in 1778 was like traveling back to a time before loading docks were invented.  Despite the travel and load-in challenges (and Dorothy Draper decor that overwhelmed the senses!), we not only pulled off a flawless event, but also captured some great testimonial interviews from Blend clients on site.
  • Globe Summit: Quite possibly our most labor intensive show, this one keeps us on our toes, as every half-hour we seated a full new virtual panel to broadcast/stream live. This two-day event included state governors to NFL players to doctors and economists, who helped take Boston Globe’s journalism beyond the page and live on screen to their subscribers.
  • Community Day: Always a Pixl team favorite, this project allows us to follow the journey of one company’s mission to give back.  For over 20 years, our client’s employees have stepped out of the office and into the community to change lives one organization at a time. We have had the opportunity to document their volunteer work for nearly 10 years now, watching annually over 2,000 employees giving back nearly 12,500 hours at 297 non profit organizations in a single day each year. We feel grateful for this front row view of their mission, and being allowed to partner with them always reminds us why we love what we do.
  • Not the road, but super-memorable: Little did our client know when they selected April 9, 2024 for their annual partner meeting that it was the day of the total solar eclipse! Trive’s 2-day event that we helped produce along with MH Concepts featured the most unique entertainment between general sessions and breakout sessions we’d ever heard of. Thankfully the break was timed to allow attendees and crew to head outside to take in the much-anticipated celestial show. Word is there will be no eclipse during this year’s annual meeting, sadly.

Team Growth and Skill Expansion

This year, we leveled up as we began outfitting our new studio space, welcomed a new intern (shoutout to Isabel!), and ventured into exciting new capabilities. In addition to the dedicated studio, we added a second certified drone pilot—though we won’t make you call him captain. (That said, some Pixl bomber jackets might be in order!) With these additions, we’re equipped to offer even more to our clients and continue pushing the creative boundaries of what Pixl can do.

Looking Ahead: New Horizons for 2025

As we close this chapter, we’re excited about what lies ahead. In 2025, as we celebrate 18 years in business and officially step into ‘grown-up’ territory, we’re setting our sights on new partnerships, exploring fresh technology, and bringing our vision to life in ways we’d only previously imagined. With our talented, committed team, Pixl is more than ready to take on whatever comes next.

Thank you to all our clients, partners, and team members for making this journey possible. We couldn’t do it without you, and we’re grateful for every project, every mile, and every memory. Here’s to another year of breaking boundaries, both near and far!
